What is microdermabrasion and why is regular skin resurfacing neccesarry?

Medicine microdermabrasion is a process of controlled removal of thickened and died off skin layers “stratum corneum” with the goal of removal of the old skin and elimination of the skin imperfections as well as undesirable skin changes caused by aging.

Microdermabrasion intensifies microcirculation, thus making cells nutrition better. It makes quicker and much better active substances flow that need to go to collagen and elastin, and help create new cells. The changes reached at stratum corneum send impulses to the basale skin layers to increase new cell production rate and substitute old skin layers with new healthy skin – this process is called skin resurfacing. Thus with no visible skin alterations wrinkles, scars, age spots, pigmentation caused by sun rays, melasma, acne and acne’s scars, oily skin, enlarged pores etc are being reduces and in some cases even disappear.

The difference of the new DiamondTome TM compared with earlier generations of microdermabrasion devices is that they are based on crystals (most commonly aluminum oxide) and DiamondTome TM uses real diamonds of different thickness, set under varied angles on ten individual carriers. During treatment resurfaced skin layer is being sucked and removed (removed layers of old skin can be seen right away at special filter) while vacuum, at the same time, stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin cells. Combination of regular skin resurfacing and vacuum stimulation of fibroblast intensifies microcirculation, increases cell regeneration, deepen collagen and elastin regeneration making epidermis fuller, skin more elastic and with better structure and leading in this way to much younger looking skin.

With older generation devices both patient and the therapist were exposed to the crystal dust, now it is not the case anymore, there is no skin irritation and there is no possible inflammation processes. In addition, with earlier systems crystals were not being sterilized while each DiamondTome TM intervention considers sterilized Diamond Head. Procedure is done in progressive and not aggressive way. Optimal results are being succeeded in series of treatments, usually from four to ten, each in ten to fifteen days.

The results depend on the depth of microdermabrasion

Depending on individual needs and skin types DiamondTome TM is possible to use from soft microdermabrasion with instant results of improved looking face (lunch peel) to the strong microdermabrasion of the deep skin layers where results are removal of strong wrinkles, pigmentations, scars etc.
